Global Ministry Partners
Planted & Planting
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
We can't plant something if we haven't been planted ourselves. When a tree is healthy, its fruit is not for itself - it receives its nourishment from the depth of its roots - its fruit is for others. The seed of the fruit is the beginning of a new tree - maybe even a whole orchard. God's call on our life as a church is much bigger than what we see right now. We are a part of something greater than ourselves. If we want to be a church that outlasts ourselves, we must sink our roots deeps into Jesus. Being deep into Jesus means being on his mission.
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
The Great Commission is really about church planting; the call to make disciples is about making more churches. Disciples cannot truly be made apart from the Church; they must be baptized into something - into the life and community of the Church. There is no such thing as an orphan in the Kingdom; we are all a part of the family. Of all the beautiful ministry that we could be a part of around the world - there is not a more effective ministry than church planting.
Why We have Ministry Partnerships
When faced with the tremendous need for the gospel around the globe, it becomes increasingly obvious how limited are the resources of our humble church. We want to leverage the generosity of our people and their willingness to go and serve to the utmost. Thus, it makes sense to come alongside those who are already making a difference planting churches around the globe. We support our partners with prayer, encouragement, financial support, through sponsorships when they visit the U.S., through donation drives, and by sending volunteers on short term mission trips.
How We Evaluate MINISTRY Partnerships
At New City Church, we receive many opportunities to partner with people and organizations around the globe. The simple reality is that it is impossible to partner with everyone. We love orphanages, schools, and medical missions - but without healthy churches those ministries will not thrive in making disciples. It is our goal to plant healthy churches that in turn can provide local support to mercy ministries. As we consider potential partnerships we are looking for people and organizations who are focused primarily on planting churches with indigenous pastors. We particularly like to partner with ministries that have a natural organic connection to the life of New City Church. All ministry partnerships are considered by our Ministry Partnership Committee.
Long Term Missionaries
It is our vision to see global communities renewed by the transformative power of the gospel as new churches are planted and fledgling churches are supported. In partnership with Mission the World, we have set a goal to send and support 1% of our people as they are called by God into long term missions.
The 1% Campaign
1% of our church body would be 3 people. Please join us in praying that God would call people from New City Church to long term global missions and pray that the generosity of our people would be stirred toward supporting them.
If you sense a calling into the mission field, we want to hear from you.
