This book by Dane Ortland explores the only words Jesus used to describe himself: gentle and lowly. It is rich and hearty and will change your view on coming to God. Ortland uses scripture and writings from the Puritans to further explore God’s overwhelming mercy towards sinners and our response to that. This is my highest recommendation! This would be great to read alongside a book of the Bible, particularly a gospel.
